“Whether through trade, education, innovation, security or culture, we are working together not only on today’s priorities, but on tomorrow’s opportunities,” he said. The High Commission said the gathering followed a significant year for bilateral relations, including the State Visit in March, which it said demonstrated the strength of ties between both countries. Bilateral trade now stands at £7.3 billion, the High Commission said, while cultural, family and diaspora links continue to bring both countries closer. The reception also featured an art gallery celebrating UK-Nigeria connections and gave partners from government, business, culture and civil society an opportunity to explore new collaboration. The High Commission said both countries would continue to build on the relationship to create greater opportunity, prosperity and lasting benefits for their people.
