Veleka Gray Returns to Love of Life as Mia Marriott
Gray, who originally portrayed Mia Marriott on the CBS daytime drama from 1977 to 1980, will once again be part of the Love of Life legacy as the series makes its return for a new generation of listeners. Her involvement brings another piece of the show’s rich history into its next era, reconnecting audiences with an actress who helped shape its final years on television.
A familiar presence to generations of soap opera viewers, Gray has enjoyed an extensive career spanning daytime television, primetime, film, theatre, and radio. Before joining Love of Life, she portrayed Laura Donnelly Elliott on CBS’s Love Is a Many Splendored Thing and Susan Pritchett on NBC’s How to Survive a Marriage. She later continued her daytime career as Victoria “Vicki” Paisley on NBC’s Somerset. Following her original run on Love of Life, Gray joined As the World Turns as nurse Lyla Montgomery. She also portrayed the roles of Ruby Collins and Dr. Sharon Reaves on CBS’s The Young and the Restless.
Beyond television, Gray has appeared in numerous film and theatrical productions and lent her voice to several productions of CBS Radio Mystery Theater. Her work has also extended into writing, producing, directing, and teaching.
