Kartik Sudhera had proven himself to carry the J Dilla influence on his sleeve with previous mixtapes and collaborative projects like The Patakha Boys. He had even leaned into the West Coast hip-hop sound on 2024’s ‘UMBRO.’.
Now the Delhi-based (erstwhile Ludhiana) artist is bringing his learnings together with a debut album, which has just been introduced through the single ‘3HeadedMoses’ – a track that indicates that Sudhera is venturing deeper into the left field. Booming bass and the noise of his loops merge into a bed of harsh ambience, giving a rough edge to the otherwise smooth soul samples that give the track its rhythm, over which New York’s Fatboi Sharif and New Delhi’s Shauharty deliver their raps, which carry through into a beat switch.
